The service includes photorealistic 3D model data for the territory of the city of Riga with a resolution of 0.07 meters, obtained from both standard and oblique angle photographs. The data was obtained in the spring of 2021. Aerial coverage is 80/60. Data is available in .cesium, .lod_dae, .lod_obj, .obj, .osgb and .slpk model formats. Snap to WGS 1984 coordinate system and EGM-96 geoid. Original file sizes vary depending on the area where the data was produced.
A 3D model represents a 3D object using a collection of points in 3D space, connecting to various geometric objects, such as triangles, lines, curved surfaces, etc. Photorealistic model creation uses scenes captured from multiple viewpoints (nadir, right, left, front, and back), then automatically finds pixels that correspond to the same object or point. Using this set of equal pixels, it is possible to determine the relative orientation of the scenes and the 3D shape of the objects visible there. 3D models can serve several purposes - in urban planning, architecture, spatial analysis of territories, detection of changes, etc.
The service is available free of charge by sending an e-mail to pakalpojumi@lgia.gov.lv. The territorial coverage of the service covers the territory of the city of Riga.
